Judy Bartel, MSN, ACHPN, CHPCA, FPCN, Chief Clinical Officer

As Hospice of the Western Reserve’s primary clinical leader, Bartel administers, directs and coordinates activities related to all clinical services and operations. She is accountable for more than 760 clinical team employees in home care, alternative home care, referral assessment and liaison, on-call, the Bereavement Center, inpatient units, palliative care, the Navigator program, an advance illness program, pediatrics, pharmacy and dietary.   Learn More

Clem Hearey, Vice President of Human Resources

Clement Hearey has been the Director of Human Resources for Hospice of the Western Reserve since 2000. Prior to joining Hospice of the Western Reserve, Hearey spent more than 15 years focused on human resource management and organizational development, recruiting and maintaining a strong workforce for local governments such as Shaker Heights, Ohio.   Learn More

 

Jeff Kovacs, CPA, MBA, Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Kovacs became Chief Financial Officer for Hospice of the Western Reserve in May of 2020. Jeff is responsible for all accounting and finance functions of the agency including financial reporting, budgeting, banking relationships and general business operations. Prior to his role as CFO, Jeff served as Director of Finance for four years where he led the Accounts Payable, Accounting, Payroll, and Procurement Operations teams. Beth McLaughlin, M.D., Medical Director & Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Beth McLaughlin is Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director at Hospice of the Western Reserve. She directs patient medical care and administrative management of physicians, nurse practitioners and the group practice manager. Prior to the appointment, she worked at University Hospitals on the Palliative Care Consult Service, as the Hospice Medical Director, and on a CMS Health Care Innovation Grant focusing on early palliative care and care coordination in advanced cancer patients at Seidman Cancer Center.    Learn More

 

Laura K. Rayburn, MBA, President of the Hospice of the Western Reserve Foundation 

Laura K. Rayburn was appointed President of the Hospice of the Western Reserve Foundation in June, 2020.   A veteran fundraiser, Ms. Rayburn is responsible for all philanthropic activities and the establishment of the Hospice of the Western Reserve Foundation.  Prior, Rayburn served as Vice President of Development for Saint Martin de Porres high school where she successfully completed the school’s Phase II Capital Campaign and drove unrestricted annual support.  Rayburn has also held leadership positions with the Great Lakes Science Center and The Cleveland Orchestra.   Learn More

 

Jeff W. Stanicki, Vice President of Marketing and Provider Relations

Jeff W. Stanicki joined Hospice of the Western Reserve in September 2005, as a Provider Relations Manager. In 2019 he was promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Provider Relations where he assists in strategy development, plans and implements marketing and business development activities along with overseeing the Provider Relations and Community Relations Team.   Learn More

John Mastrojohn, III, RN, MSN, MBA, Chief Innovations Officer

John Mastrojohn joined Hospice of the Western Reserve as Chief Innovations Officer in September 2019. He has a long service record in hospice care, including as Chief Operating Officer and Foundation President for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Director of Summa Hospice and Team Leader for Hospice of the Western Reserve’s AIDS Team in the 1990’s.   Learn More
